We're so excited to bring you this Niko Cray Coiled Snake Dry Pipe! This piece was specifically chosen by Tako and Beezy when they hung out with Niko! In fact, it was specially made in this color, which is inspired by the Tako Glass brand colors! Niko has been in the spotlight for his sculptural glass water pipes, most notably his Snake and Shark series. Tako's explicit mission has been to acquire the the best hand pipes in America, and this piece absolutely exemplifies that!
At first glance, Niko's style is immediately recognizable, from the quirky character affect in the expression of the snake, and the smooth flow and taper in the coils, especially the subtle color fade from pinks to purples. Even the black work has a ton of depth to it! Its full of subtle lines of sparkle, forming ghostly patterns in certain areas. This heady hand pipe is exquisitely crafted! Every detail has been laid and shaped with great care.
The snake's open striking mouth serves as the bowl, so watch your fingers when loading it up! There is an extended forward carb on the right side of the snake's head, which will let you control the flow without burning your thumb or finger. This pipe will suit left and right handed users, as you'll be using a modified grip regardless, just be prepared to operate the carb with a finger if you find it a bit of a reach for the thumb.
As we follow the snake's coils, we find a nicely placed marble encased 'signature' in the form of a custom millie, leaving no doubt about the authenticity and origin of this pipe! This is a wonderful touch, and a boon to any collector.
One of the interesting features of a pipe like this, is the orientation of the sculpture and the functional parts of the pipe. When not in use, the pipe can be stood up, balancing on the snake's head and the main coil. This orientation really showcases the charm and expressive nature of the pipe. When in use, the piece can be rolled onto it's 'side' so that the snake's mouth(and bowl) are accessible.
