Greetings, fam! Wishing you the happiest of holidays as we wrap up this amazing year. We have had such a prosperous 2022 thanks to your support. And while we are so happy to close the year out on a positive note, we’re even more stoked for 2023. We have many projects up our sleeves and the inspiration is firing. Expect lots of great glass pipes, bongs, and other interesting things created with a whole lot of love. Here’s a little peek at what we've got coming for you.
Glass Vegas and Other Shows
Trade show season busts right out the gate every new year, and these events are a mainstay in the glass-blowing world.
Kicking the year off, my wife, Beezy Glass, and I are headed to “Glass Vegas” at the beginning of January. This is always a fantastic show, offering plenty of opportunities to reconnect with many of our artist friends also in the glass world. We will also be on the lookout for new glass finds and treasures, which we will happily share with all of you.
In February, I’m headed to the glass show, “Champs,” which is happening in Vegas. While there, I’m going to be scouting to find new artists to potentially collaborate with and hopefully land some new work opportunities.
New Year News at the HQ
Recently we upgraded our workspace to fulfill the needs of our expanding business. We are looking forward to making the shop feel more like home and not a construction zone. And then, once we’re totally settled, we’re excited to see what we can create in the new space. The transition has been intense, with so much of our time dedicated to organizing and setting it up for optimal workflow. The shop is going to be finished soon and we are thrilled.
Our new cold working room is almost complete and that will add another awesome addition to our production. Look out for some incredible cut percs and bongs, which we are really looking forward to creating. We are also working on more faceted pieces and creating work with faceted crystals on them; the details are going to be sick.
Creating a Creative Glass Hub
Along with the completion of the new shop, we are super excited to have a studio large enough to bring artists into our space. We are so looking forward to guests coming into the studio to collab with. Our previous studio was a mere 450 square feet, for reference; the new space is 1600 square feet. Now that we have extra space, we can’t wait to have a place that supports others in our unique community.
As we close out 2022, we want to extend a really warm THANK YOU to our amazing customers, partners, and collaborators who helped make the year the best ever. We are so excited about what’s ahead in 2023, and we promise, you’re going to see some incredible new things coming from our shop. Our success is because of you and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to. From everyone at Tako Glass, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
